Creating Memories... One Blueberry Bagel at a Time

In a few short days, we had settled into a new routine. Wake up at 7 a.m. Get ready for breakfast. It was the same every morning thereafter. He would pick up the Wall Street Journal and find us a nice place to sit. I would toast a blueberry bagel until it was crispy on the outside but still chewy on the inside. I would meet him at our table and slowly slather our bagel with cream cheese. He always wanted the top half. Then he would read the paper. I would sit quietly and look around. At little birds pecking at crumbs left behind. At other people getting breakfast. At him.

These long, quiet mornings in Maui were absolutely wonderful. These are the moments I want to remember forever.
